WHAT IS THE "LIGHTS" HOUSE?

Established February 1, 1994, Northern Lights Clubhouse is a program for people with a history of mental illness. Northern Lights Clubhouse is based on a national model referred to as the "Clubhouse Model." Membership is voluntary and involves an effort between staff and members.

The program is based on a "work ordered" day. Staff and members work side-by-side five days per week, in various units that are vital to the ongoing operation of the Clubhouse.

EMPLOYMENT SERVICE PROGRAM
The Employment Program offers a variety of temporary and supported entry level positions for members who wish to build work experience, regain self-confidence and independence, earn money, and increase job references.

WHAT DO MEMBERS RECEIVE FROM CLUBHOUSE?

Knowledge of budgeting and money management skills.

Employment in the community.

ORDERED DAY - THE UNITS
Kitchen Unit~Offers many opportunities to members interested in developing or sharpening their culinary skills, meal planning, budgeting and inventory. A noon meal is prepared by members on a daily basis.


Snack Bar~A meeting place for conversation and a homemade treat among the Clubhouse community. For anyone interested in cashiering skills, marketing or dealing with customers, this is the place to be.


Business Unit~Taking care of business everyday: monthly newsletter, accounting, computer training, Medicaid billing, and all other office tasks needed to continue the successful operation of the Clubhouse.
